We are very sad to report that
long time MBCA Kansas City Section Member and Past President,
Pat Sterbenz,
has passed away. Details are very sketchy,
but she was found on the floor of her home today.
Her nephew notified Bob Poduch and asked that the club be notified.
Watch for the obit in the paper in the next couple of days
for more information.

Acceleration Runs
at Heartland Park
For a good time bring your Benz to Topeka's Heartland Park on July 23,
for an evening of drag racing with your Benz Buddies during HPT's
NHRA Drags - Street Legal Style
For just $20 ($10 for spectators) you can have the opportunity to drive your car on the professional NHRA track, the same one we're using for the Mid-America Caravan.
Your car must be in safe operating condition (a pre-run inspection is made by track officials), and if your car is capable of sub-14 second quarter mile times you are required to wear a helmet. That's about it, but you can check the website at www.hpt.com for further details.
Club members will meet at the entrance on the east side of the track at 5 p.m. Inspections start at 5:30, and racing begins at 6:00 p.m. You don't need to be experienced nor does your car need to be fast. It's just fun to get out on the track and let it all hang out! This will get you some strip time in preparation for August's Mid-America Caravan hosted by our Kansas City Section of Mercedes-Benz Club of America! Hope to se ... |

1959 220S. Black with red leather. Not a show car but a real nice driver that attracts lots of attention at the clean car shows. Seat upholstery, headliner, and paint re-done about 10 - 12 years ago and is still nice. This car has no rust including the trunk and chassis underneath. The original Becker Mexico radio is in tact but does not play. Tires & tubes are less than 5 years old. There are plenty of opportunities to put your touches on this fine old car to raise her standard and value without a large investment. $7000. I have a 1980 450 SLC which has been in my family from the start. It has 37k original miles and always garage kept. My dad never used it for a daily driver nor did I. Just had a recently updated AC to 134a. Only problem is that it doesn't blow heat. Make an offer, I'm asking $13000. Color is Champagne gold. |
